The Galaxy Manila Marathon 2025 transformed the streets of Metro Manila into a vibrant, international running arena on August 10, uniting over 19,000 runners from 16 countries.

Beginning at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, the marathon highlighted some of the capital’s most iconic sites, including Intramuros and Luneta Park. Organized by RUNRIO Inc. in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), the event showcased both the athletic and cultural heartbeat of the Philippines.
DOT Leaders Take the Lead
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco joined the race alongside key agency officials, reinforcing the DOT’s commitment to sports tourism in the Philippines.

Also running were Congressman Duke Frasco, Undersecretaries Shahlimar Hofer Tamano and Maria Rica Bueno, Assistant Secretary Judilyn Quiachon, and Directors Roberto Alabado III, Alven Talisic, and Glenn Ocampo—a strong show of leadership and community spirit.
More Than a Race—A Tourism Boost
The Galaxy Manila Marathon 2025 is part of the DOT’s sports tourism calendar, which includes over 40 races nationwide this year.
At the Race Village, visitors enjoyed the DOT’s Love the Philippines campaign booth and received souvenir tumblers from the Office of Film and Sports Tourism.

A World-Class, AIMS-Certified Course
The highlight was the AIMS-certified 42K route, sanctioned by World Athletics and the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA).
Age-group winners in the 42K category secured guaranteed slots in the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon.
All categories began at the MOA Complex, with the 42K and 21K courses extending through Pasay, Parañaque, Makati, and Manila—offering participants a scenic and challenging journey.
