Rain and a little bit of lightning did not faze the almost 2,500 runners and 350 dogs that joined the fourth edition of the Green Run 2025 at Vermosa Estates in Imus, Cavite, on Sunday, June 29.

The multi-level fun run in Cavite, which first took off in 2022 at the 750-hectare Vermosa Estates by Ayala Land, continues to attract families, casual runners, and elite athletes through its various race categories: the 21K half-marathon, the 10K, 5K, and 3K intermediate distances. The crowd favorite 1K Dog Run lets fur parents bond and run with their pets amid the lush yet well-paved surroundings of the estate.

The first Vermosa Green Run in 2022 encouraged people to “go out, lace up, mask up, and run for a greener tomorrow” in a post-lockdown world. It pioneered a return to outdoor fitness while promoting sustainability and wellness. True to this advocacy, Vermosa Estates remains committed to encouraging physical activity, healthy living, and environmental responsibility.

Organized by Pinoy Fitness, the first Green Run supported the Haribon Foundation’s Adopt-A-Seedling Program. For Green Run 2025 Vermosa, the event has expanded its advocacy to include Pawssion Project, a nonprofit for animal welfare, and Takbo Kabitenyo, a grassroots running group that trains young athletes for local and international competitions.

To further its sustainability goals, the Green Run also invited participants and guests to bring used plastics during the registration period, which are being repurposed into eco-friendly materials like benches and pathways inside Vermosa Estates.

Now considered by running regulars as “the most scenic run in the Philippines,” Angel Montevirgen, a Cavite native and member of Takbo Kabitenyo, shared that the running community eagerly awaits the Green Run each year.

“It’s a lifestyle you immerse yourself in. You get the right motivation—new shoes, new friends, better health. It’s not just about running; it’s about being part of a fitness-focused community.”

Jeff Lo, founder and president of Pinoy Fitness, expressed his excitement over the turnout, despite the rain:

“Runners actually enjoy running in the rain—it’s cooler, mas masaya. I trust Vermosa as a venue because it’s safe, clean, green, and well-paved. You don’t get this kind of environment in other race venues.”

Lo noted that runners and fitness buffs can run at Vermosa Estates any time—free of charge. The Green Run simply acts as the community’s yearly highlight, where the roads are closed off for a true racing experience.

“It’s like the culmination of all your training. You get to enjoy the thrill of competition and the support of a like-minded community.”

Chrissy Roa, Head of Marketing and Communications for Ayala Land Estates, highlighted the event’s greater purpose:

“Each step you take at the Green Run 2025 Vermosa supports bigger causes. It’s an event that fuses fitness, wellness, sustainability, and community support in one meaningful celebration.”

Now a benchmark in purpose-driven lifestyle events, the Green Run at Vermosa continues to reinforce Ayala Land’s commitment to sustainability—using fitness as a catalyst for positive environmental and social change.
