Mari Dance revives its acclaimed dance theater production a d a n c e i n a d a y i n a d a n c e with a fresh run scheduled from May 16 to May 31, 2026 at the Doreen Black Box Theater in Areté. Following its successful premiere in October 2025, this restaging introduces new performers while deepening its exploration of the lives of dancers and choreographers.

The production features five original works by JM Cabling, woven into a narrative that reflects creative burnout, rejection, and the strain on personal relationships within the performing arts. Audiences can expect a layered performance that blends contemporary dance and theater storytelling. Musical theater director Mikko Angeles returns to guide the overall narrative direction.
New cast members include Ea Torrado, Georgette Sanchez-Vargas, and Janine Arisola-Cabrera. Torrado and Sanchez-Vargas alternate in the role of the mother across select dates, each bringing distinct movement styles shaped by their international and local dance experiences. Arisola-Cabrera takes on the lead role of Lea, delivering a technically grounded and emotionally nuanced performance.

Returning performers Michael Que and Sarah Samaniego continue to anchor the ensemble, maintaining continuity from the original staging. The creative team also includes Wika Nadera for set design, Arvy Dimaculangan for sound design, Joyce Garcia for video projection, and D Cortezano for lighting.
This dance performance in Manila highlights the evolving landscape of Filipino contemporary dance, reinforcing Mari Dance’s commitment to original works and artistic sustainability. The show is rated PG-13 and is open to a broad audience interested in dance theater Philippines.
